President Gayoom congratulates new Sri Lankan PM

MALE, Dec 11 (HNS) - President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of felicitation to the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremasinghe. In his message, President Gayoom congratulated Wickremasinghe on behalf of the government and people of Maldives, and on his own behalf. The President expressed confidence that the existing close relations of friendship and cooperation between Maldives and Sri Lanka would continue to strengthen in the coming years.
