Police forward cases of nine to PG, search for five more in VTV attack

Police have forwarded the cases of nine people to the Prosecutor General's Office and launched a search for further five for their alleged involvement in the attack on private television station Villa TV during the unrest that swept across Male following the reconvening of Parliament on March 19. Inspector Abdulla Shatheeh revealed yesterday that the investigation of nine people for the alleged attack on VTV with stones and fireballs and also the attempted attack on military personnel posted at the station for security had been completed.

However, as the whereabouts of the five people believed to be the lead suspects in the case are unknown, Police have made their photos public.

Police have urged anyone to come out with any information related to the current whereabouts of the five suspects.

Shaheeth detailed that cases of nine people that had been forwarded to the PG office include Raa Atoll Alifushi, Hameedhee Manzil, Hussain Hameed 26, his brother Ahmed Hameed 29, Registry 1471, Mohamed Hameed 50, Henveiru Ladhumaage aage, Ahmed Naeem, 27, Alif alif Atoll Feridhoo, Aazaadhuge, Ghaanim Haasan, 19, Maafannu Nooruzeyruge Hussain Shifau Jameel, 19, Raa Atoll Maduvvari Fehi Ali, Ismail Hammad, 19, Galolhu Haalam, Ahmed Muheen, 22 and a 17 year old child.

In addition to photos of the suspects, Police have also publicized photographic evidence of the suspects while carrying out the attack on VTV.
