Cases of 108 people in Thinadhoo violence sent to PG

Maldives Police Service (MPS) today said that the cases of 108 accused in the violence in Gaafu Dhaal Thinadhoo which led to the torching and destruction of the Thinadhoo Police Station and other government institutions had been sent to the Prosecutor Generalâ In addition to Thinadhoo, the case of the 32 people arrested regarding the arson attacks and damages inflicted on Laamu Gan Police Station, obstruction of justice and the incitement of violence towards police officers had been sent to the PG Office.

Police stated that many cases besides the two had been sent to the PG office within the last two weeks. This includes the case of the destruction of items at the National Museum and the stabbing near Henveiru Zabarujudhuge.

Police also stated that a case of physical abuse on a child, a case of sexual assault and a case of drug trafficking was also sent to the PG.

The police had also sent the case of the attack on two policemen riding past Male City Council office on a motorcycle, which was then set on fire, the case of threatening residents of Gaafu Vara Palace and also the case of verbal abuse and threatening the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
