President expresses sympathy to Nepalese King

MALE, July 20 (HNS) – President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom on Friday expressed sympathy to King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev of Nepal following the massive landslides and extensive floods in eastern Nepal which caused death and devastation. In a message, Gayoom extended profound sympathy to the king, the government and people of Nepal, on behalf of the government and people of Maldives and on his own behalf. Gayoom also conveyed sincere condolences to members of the bereaved families.
