The United Nation's mediation expert Eve Monet, who is currently in the Maldives to assist the Maldives in dealing with the present political issues, has met with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. In a statement issued by the Secretariat of the former President it was stated that the meeting took place at the office.
“The state of the National Enquiry Commission and the progress of the All Party Road Map Talks were discussed during the meeting, and Monet asked for President Gayoom’s opinion on these matters as well,†it read.
Monet is the UN mediator in all political party negotiations.
