Cabinet approves guidelines for land allocation from Hulhumale
MALE, July 31 (HNS) -- The Cabinet on Wednesday approved guidelines for the allocation from Hulhumale of flats for private residence, units for administrative and commercial use, housing plots, and land. Earlier, on 25 June 2003, the Cabinet had discussed guidelines for the allocation of properties and land in Hulhumale, and decided that the paper on the subject that was compiled by the Hulhumale Development Unit be examined by a ministerial committee and re-submitted to the Cabinet with the committee's recommendations. The decisions taken by the Cabinet on Wednesday were based on the proposals made by the Cabinet committee. Wednesday's meeting also decided upon the requirements that should be met by individuals for eligibility to apply for flats at Hulhumale. The guidelines approved on Wednesday will shortly be announced by the Maldives Housing and Urban Development Board, the President's Office said in a press release.
