The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has commenced a joint operation with the Indian Navy to monitor the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Maldives. According to MNDF an Indian Navy ship, Coast Guard’s Huravee Launch and Shaheed Ali ship will participate in the operation.
During the five day operation the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard will monitor the Maldives’ territorial waters for any illegal activity and take action if any are detected.
Previously “Tri-lateral joint exercise dosti â€" 11†operation was also held between the Maldives, India and Sri Lanka.
