As private clinics and hospitals begin providing health care under the national health insurance scheme 'Aasandha', the authorized service price list under Aasandha has been publicized. ADK hospital along with some private clinics has already begun providing Aasandha after taking a co-payment.
Aasandha Company Managing Director Mohamed Shafaz detailed that the prices charged by clinics would differ and the publicized list includes the prices covered by Aasandha. Under the present agreement the unanimous charge for general consultation is MVR50 while MVR100 would be the charge to consult a specialist, he said. However, he added that the prices could vary for other services depending on the clinic.
âœThe prices that have been included in the list are what we will pay the clinics. In addition to that the clinics would charge an amount as co-payment,â Shafaz said.
Aasandha Company had stated that co-payments must be taken in order to sustain the scheme. Despite the decision, government hospitals would take no charge for Aasandha.
Aasandha Company had said that an agreement has been reached with ADK and eight other clinics to provide the service by a taking a co-payment.
