Police Commissioner Abdulla Riyaz yesterday met with the Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives D.M Mulay. Maldives Police Service website claimed that the discussions had entailed to explore means of Indian assistance to further strengthen the Police institution.
Police further claimed that during the sit-down discussions had also included ways to increase education and training to Police and strengthen Police infrastructure with the assistance of the Indian government.
Commissioner expressed gratitude to the continued assistance from the Indian government to the Police, according to the MPS website.
In addition to the Indian High Commissioner, Riyaz had also met with officials from Transparency Maldives.
Police detailed that Riyaz had discussed the potential joint programs that can be undertaken with Transparency Maldives.
