Six Maldivians on travel ban over Midhshah's death: Lanka Police

Sri Lanka Police have revealed that six Maldivians and a woman from Madagascar have been banned from leaving the country over the death of Mohamed Midhshah, 37 who plunged to his death from the 18th floor of Jaic Hilton Hotel in Union Place, Colombo last Thursday. Slave Island Police station in-charge Ariasingha undertaking the investigation into the incident detailed that a Court would make a decision in relation to the people banned from traveling after the postmortem report is received.

He added that the direction of the investigation would also be based on the report.
“We hope that the postmortem report would be received before the 24th of this month. Then only we would know how to move forward with the case,” Ariasingha said.

Ariasingha further claimed that the other Maldivians with the victim had been under the influence of alcohol. He detailed that the two Sri Lankan women arrested with them had been detained for allegations of prostitution.

The postmortem on Midhshah was done last Friday.
