As the month of July ended yesterday, Haveeru has learned that some government employees are yet to receive the month's salary. It has been found that though the depositing of salaries had been ongoing from July 30, 31 the process had not been completed as the month ended.
Finance Minister Abdulla Jihad told Haveeru that the delay in depositing the salaries was down to a âœbank issue.â However, he did not disclose the nature of the issue.
âœEveryone will be credited with their respective salaries today,â Minister said.
While many have complained for the delay in receiving salaries, Haveeru has found that an issue had surfaced where some salaries were taken back after it was deposited. However, Minister refuted the rumor and stressed that no such had come to pass.
Despite the Ministerâ™s claim, some employees who had experienced the issue first hand told Haveeru that the salaries were re-deposited today after it was taken back yesterday.
Since President Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manikâ™s government came to power, government employees have been receiving their salaries on time. Some employees have said that this was the first time there has been a delay in the depositing of the salaries.
