High Court today has issued a temporary stay order on the two temporary Civil Court orders with regard to the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) occupied Usfasgandu area. The two Civil Court orders include, the order to cease the dismantling of the Usfasgandu area and the second is to return the items taken from the site by the police before the first Civil Court order was issued, by 10.00 this morning.
Following the State’s appeal of the two Civil Court orders, the High Court had ordered to delay the compliance of the two orders by the lower court.
High Court Chief Judge Ahmed Shareef ordered to delay acting on the two orders of the Civil Court until the High Court decides or takes a specific course of action in the case.
