Maldives Media Company has launched a new television channel called "DhiFM plus" on Sunday. Maldives Media Company Chief Operating Officer (CEO) Masood Hilmy said that the channel would operate on Media net channel number 106 and that the 24 hour channel “DhiFM plus†will broadcast mainly entertainment programs.
“But some amount of current affairs programs will also be broadcast. DhiFM transmission will be shown on DhiTV from midnight till 2.00 in the afternoon. The channel will be shown on the Media net package channel. We are looking forward to provide the service through satellite in the near future. From today onwards the terrestrial broadcast will also commence. Male and the nearby islands can tune in through the terrestrial signal.†Masood said.
He said that Maldives Media Company is trying to introduce more channels in the future. The company operates DhiTV and DhiFM at present.
