All three men deny Bobby's murder charges

All three men accused of the murder of Abdul 'Bobby' Muheeth of Galolhu Veyru last February have denied the charges in Court today. Muhujath Ahmed Naasih of Abulagee Ge, Gaaf Dhaal Atoll Gahdhoo, Mohamed Maimoon of Zaithoonige, Lhaviyani Naifaru and Ali Mushahfau of Sultan Villa Seenu Atoll Maradhoo are charged with the brutal murder of Bobby.

During the trial at the Criminal Court today, State Attorney detailed that on the night of February 19, Muhujath and Mushahfau along with a group of people had assaulted Bobby while he was sitting on a motor cycle in front of the Finance Ministry building.
After the assault, Maimoon had left the scene on a motorbike, Attorney added.

While Muhujath and Mushahfau have been charged with murder in the first degree, Maimoon has been charged with accessory to first degree murder. That is in reference to Articles 12 and 13 under Article 88 of the penal code.

When the charges were read out, all three suspects had denied the charges.

After the suspects denied the charges, State Attorney reiterated the request made to the court to conceal the names of the witnesses and added that the names had been forwarded to the court in writing.

However, the Judge had asked the names of the witnesses be presented to the court again in writing. Judge added that the next hearing on the case would be held soon.
