Jumhoory Party (JP) has withdrawn a letter sent by the party to the Civil Coalition. The letter which was sent in reply to a letter sent by the Civil Coalition on June 21 to JP to participate in the discussions to be held to contemplate electing a presidential candidate from the coalition to run in the Presidential Election of 2013 requested that âœthe coalition be clarified and information of its members be clearly stated and provided.â
âœAnd the party requests the latest state of the December 23 coalition. According the Jumhoory Partyâ™s basic regulation there should be an elected Leader of the party whose responsibility is to run for President as the partyâ™s candidate, thus the party has been spending considerably on promotion and fostering support for our Leader,â the letter signed by JPâ™s President Dr Didi sent to Civil Coalition President Sheikh Mohamed Didi read.
However Dr Didi concluded the letter saying that once information on the civil coalition is received JP will participate in the requested discussions.
Officials from both JP and the Civil Coalition confirmed for Haveeru today that JP has withdrawn the letter.
âœThey (JP) are now ready to join the sitdown. They have taken the letter back,â the Civil Coalitions Deputy President and State Home Minister Abdulla Mohamed said.
